The gold consignment, which was being illegally smuggled to India from Sri Lanka through the ocean route, was intercepted and confiscated by the authorities, as reported by information company ANI.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Division of Income Intelligence (DRI) collectively carried out the operation after two days of thorough underwater searches.

Elaborating on the operation, Deputy director common (Operations) of the Indian Coast Guard, Manish Pathak offered additional particulars, stating that the suspicious fishing boats have been carefully monitored at sea. When the boats have been pursued and confronted, one in every of them was apprehended, whereas the opposite dumped the gold consignment into the ocean.
